Posso adiantar que são natural dos Açores, mais precisamente da ilha de S.Miguel e no passado mês de Setembro celebraram o seu 18º aniversário.

Uma das mais antigas bandas nacionais.

Metal Archives Escreveu:At the year of 1990, Ricardo Santos and Dinis Costa got together and after recruiting Veríssimo Pereira and Pedro Rodrigues, they started the hostilities, with a band acclaimed by the majority of people, as the ex-libris of Azorean metal.

After looking for a name to the project, they decided that it should be, Morbid Death. It was given all topics, for good and many years of Heavy Metal, such as a revolution of mentality, on the beautiful Atlantic Islands of Azores.

During the next 10 years, Morbid Death had suffered mutations, with some changes of line-up, but nothing could stop the pioneers of the most alternative azorean music. With this purpose, a little was necessary to wait, that Morbid Death had achieved the status of “living legendary”, on the archipelago of Azores.Also, at that time, they were anxious to show to the rest of the world, their music. They released 2 demos, “Nomad”-1993 and “Shameless Faith”-1995. But, in 1997, they released there debut album “Echoes of Solitude”, having the particularity of being the first azorean album released professionally. It was in 1997, that the band established its line-up with Ricardo Santos (lead vocals/bass guitar), Paulo Bettencourt (guitar), Pedro Guerreiro (keyboards), Rui Frias (guitar) and Pedro Andrade (drums).

In 2000, the band unifies forces with Sea Spirit Productions, with the purpose to achieve new goals. It was necessary to rejuvenate the concept and attitude of the band, reconsidering its philosophy, in order to justify the status that was earned and most of it all, to open new barriers on the upcoming years.

In the beginning of 2002, the band allies with Recital Records to release “Secrets”- second album.

The next years can be very proliferous. A new dynamic, spirit and azorean way of life, based on the most genuine of Azores that can be revealed - the Volcanos, the Lava, the Fire and Sea- all interiorized side by side with the most alternative music made in Azores.

Grande banda. Infelizmente não tive a hipótese de vos ver ao vivo dia 31, mas quando tiver capacidades monetárias vou de certeza comprar o vosso tão aguardado DVD.

Eis uma banda digna de todo o meu respeito.

Adoro os novos temas que andam a tocar ao vivo, o 4º album será ainda melhor q os anteriores.

DVD altamente aconselhado.

Sem duvida... sao 18 anos de muita luta no nosso underground.

neste 18 anos muitas bandas ja vieram e foram... e estes rapazes mesmo situados onde judas perdeu as botas.... continuam de pedra e cal... e sempre fieis aos seus principios...

A nova geraçao de headbangers nacionais de certo pouco sabe deles...
mas ha muitos da velha guarda.. que reconhecem o nome...

Barroselas? Isso é que era!

Infelizmente, não será ainda possível adiantar mais pormenores a não ser que será mais na zona norte que iremos actuar!

Para além da preparação da Tour, os Morbid Death estão a compôr temas novos para o 4ºálbum de originais. 'One of a Kind (O.O.a.K)', 'Damaged' e 'Liber(h)ate' são temas já concluídos. 'Absence of Light' entre outros, estão a ser 'trabalhados'.

Desde já, quero felicita-los pelo vosso 18º aniversário e que façam muitos 18 e 18 e 18...é bom sinal!
Já os conheço há algum tempo, de pessoal amigo meu falar (metaleiros da velha guarda, apesar de eu também já não ser muito novo ) e sempre tive vontade de os ver ao vivo.
Há coisa de 5 ou 6 anos (corrijam-me se estiver enganado) estava eu e a minha namorada em Lisboa e surgiu a oportunidade de os ver no antigo Limbo que já na altura tinha outro nome.
Gostei bastante da vossa actuação...continuem, pois dos fracos não reza a historia!!!

Jinx, no Bairro Alto? Foi à 2/3 anos com os Desire. E em Maio de 2009, estaremos novamente por aí a actuar. Se puderem, apareçam! Aguardámos excelentes recordações desta última ida ao continente!
