TIDES FROM NEBULA play completely instrumental music that nods its head to a variety of similarly voiceless influences. Taking slow melodies and building them into a crescendo of distorted riffs the band still manage to inject some original elements into the mix, allowing the bass to shine and taking the heavier parts to the next level whilst still leaving a pathway back to beauty and space. The new release "Earthshine" is the perfect post-night-out album in that it is the aural equivalent of lying, alone on an inflatable dingy in the midst of a vast, tranquil ocean.
CATACOMBE are like a delightful puzzle of styles and influences, an astonishing fusion of modern metal and post-rock. It has all of the telltale marks of non-stop, static crescendos, followed by eclipses of echoey melancholy broken down into proto-jazz-fusion riffs. The polish troupe returns exactly one year after their first appearence in portuguese soil and the fellow portugueses return to stages for a new and reinvigorated incarnation.
