AMON AMARTH , OBITUARY and ENSLAVED have cancelled their appearances at the 2009 edition of the Unholy Fest , set to take place July 23-25 in Ostrava, Czech Republic, due to a "breach of agreement." No further details are currently available.
DARK FUNERAL: "Ave everyone! Just like countless of other bands, we have, unfortunately, also been forced cancel our show at the Unholy Fest. It actually seems like this festival was never going happen in the first place, and just a big scam already from the beginning. The promotor seems to have disappeared from the surface of the earth, whereof we, and as it seems, also many other bands, simply have no other option but to cancel. This sure sucks for us, who were really looking forward to this show, as much as we know it does for all of you who already have purchased tickets and made arrangement for the fest. We do hope that all of you who have bought tickets will be fully refunded by the organizer though!"
ROOT also cancelled appearance on UNHOLY Fest

CRADLE OF FILTH: "July 23, Unholy Festival, Ostrava, Czech Republic is cancelled. The promoter has broken the terms of his contract so we have had no choice but to withdraw and that we have asked him to stop using the COF name on his website etc. We apologise for any disappointment and COF fans who have bought festival tickets to see COF should approach the promoter to request a refund of their ticket price, if they do not wish to attend the festival."
HATE: "01 June 2009 HATE cancels Unholy Fest! Due to the organizer has not followed up the terms of the contract we regret to announce the cancellation of HATE's appearance at the Unholy Festival, Czech Rep, July 2009. We would like to stress that we have done our best to avoid this cancellation, but there was no good will from the organizers side. Please, accept our sincere apologies and be welcome to the following festivals we have already confirmed: June 05 2009 - Czech Rep- Hardline Therapy Open Air Festival June 12 2009 - Germany - Death Feast Open Air June 13 2009 - Czech Rep - Czech Death Fest July 16-18 2009 - Austria - Kaltenbach Open Air August 13-15 2009 - Germany - Summer Breeze Open Air October 02-03 2009 - Germany - Way Of Darkness Festival more to be announced soon!"
SATYRICON and BLOODRED THRONE cancelled as well.

All Czech metalheads knew in advance that this festival was not going to happen... There was even a report on Czech national television questioning the line-up and venue, and the reporters were not able to get in touch with the promoter or organizer... What a pity, it could have been another great opportunity to see all the stars in the CZ
Btw, rumours say that the organizers have already done the very same thing in Poland several times - I hope somebody will beat these guys up...
