llvmantithesis is yet another short-length release for the Portuguese duo, but one that's ultimately satisfying. Enlighten might brand their music "Black Death Metal Chaos," but the two tracks on Illvmantithesis tell a different, more dynamic tale. Sure, both tracks brim with the same gnawing, black metalled violence of last year's celebrated Phösphorvs Paramovnt EP, but there's a delicious tension at play here that gives way to a unique melancholy that, altogether, helps Illvmantithesis elude easy, more traditional categorization. But act fast if you want to witness this Illvmantithesis!
