ENSLAVED SHOOTS VIDEO WITH AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR

Norway's ENSLAVED recently traveled to Gothenburg, Sweden to work with Revolver Film Company director and Norwegian Grammy Award winner Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, Keep Of Kalessin, In Flames) to shoot a video for "The Watcher," a track off their recently Billboard-charting album, Vertebrae.



ENSLAVED share their thoughts about working with Ullaeus and the video itself:

"When we got the chance to work with Patric and Revolver, we grasped it with all ten hands. His works are very impressive. We were first exposed to him through Dimmu Borgir's latest video - the whole thing was very professional and remained 'tasty' within the fantasy framework.

Our previous videos have been do-it-yourself and we have never worked with special effects on such a high level before. The video is built upon a dual development: the band performing the song in parallel with a story line. The story is based upon [lead singer/bassist] Grutle's lyrics for 'The Watcher' and the story is written out in a co-operation between Grutle & [guitarist/songwriter] Ivar [Bjørnson] from the band, and director Patric Ullaeus.

Without spoiling the surprise, the video story follows the lines of the lyrics – the individual's struggle for truth and liberation, about revealing the real chains of existence and breaking them."

ENSLAVED will be on tour throughout North America in 2009 with Finland's Swallow The Sun and fellow countrymen Keep Of Kalessin.

Legendary Aussie thrashers MORTAL SIN have issued the following update:

"Our long time friend Greg Morelli, guitarist of NAZXUL was tragically killed in the early hours of Thursday morning November 20th in a motorcycle accident. As many locals would know a huge storm hit Sydney last night and Greg was riding his motorbike home and hit a greasy wet patch on Parramatta road North Strathfield.

Greg's death will be a huge loss to the Australian metal scene and of course the international black metal scene. The new Nazxul album had just been completed and Greg was really looking forward to getting back out on the road and we had also talked about the possibility of heading over to Europe for some shows next year. Greg explained to me that the new album was sounding like they finally wanted to sound like, and was really proud of what he had achieved.

I hope all the black metal fans out there will raise their horns tonight for Greg. Rest in peace mate, you're a fucking legend."

DE MYSTERIIS DOM ATTILAS

Here's something black metal fans have been yearning for for ages...

When the MAYHEM's cult milestone "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" was released in 1994, its mastermind Euronymous was not able to witness this album become the single most important release of the Norwegian Black Metal scene, as he had been killed by Varg Vikernes (BURZUM) soon before. Vikernes had played bass on the record but for obvious reasons his role was diminished by reducing the level of bass in the final mix.

An important aspect of the album's outstanding significance is the enigmatic and occult vocal performance of Attila Csihar. However, all that the Hungarian ever received for his essential contribution to "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" was a personally made copy of its rough mix, featuring the original bass sound as it was intended to be.

Now Attila shares his treasure with true MAYHEM fans by releasing the demo version in this special, 3000 copy limited A5 digipack entitled "Life Eternal", including his very own liner notes and previously unseen pictures.
