New Gorgoroth line-up complete!

Infernus' Gorgoroth line-up is now complete, and the new vocalist is none other than the legendary Pest - back at last after an 11 year hiatus from the band. The 2008 incarnation of Gorgoroth thus consists of Pest (vocals), Infernus (guitars), Tormentor (guitars), Frank Watkins (bass) and Tomas Asklund (drums).

As for the work on the new album, "Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt", it is going ahead more or less as scheduled, but due to the upcoming trial in Oslo in January 2009, the guitar recordings will be slightly postponed. The album will contain eight tracks of Infernus' signature aural evil, and will be released in 2009 on Regain Records. Fear the return!

As you all know, he decided to leave the band earlier this year, but still wanted to finish the new album with us. Much appreciated since we already did the rehearsal and arrangements together. We wish him the best for the future.

Renton also contributed for one new track, since he's a full-worthy member of the unholy Militia. We all know what he's capable of after this years live assaults, and we're looking forward to the next chapter.

The Guitar recording have started, and we're half true.

New Vomitory album

On January 5th, 2009, Vomitory enters Leon Music Studios in Karlstad/Sweden to record their seventh (yet untitled) album. Studio owner Rikard Löfgren will once again engineer, partially produce, mix and master the new album, like he did with Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize. The album is planned for a May 2009 release through Metal Blade Records in Europe. US / rest of world is not set yet.

Wardruna:

" After many years of working with and studying runes and the ancient and ever young Norse pagan beliefs, the need for me to do a musical project like Wardruna became inevitable. In early 2003 I began doing the first recordings. From then on the concept and methods has slowly evolved and fallen into place. Wardruna search in the scattered ruins of Norse history and use the runes as a tool to understand and evoke the depths of the old nordic pagan beliefs. Musically, the main focus is on recreating the Norse cultic musical language and the near forgotten arts of galder and seidr, as well as the daily acts of life. This is mixed with impulses from Norwegian/Nordic folk music and music from other indigenous cultures.

Runaljod – gap var Ginnunga is the first part in the Runaljod trilogy. Each album features eight runes of the Elder Futhark, but not in accordance with the order of the three aettirs (families), which is most common when working with this futhark. Many of the recordings have taken place outdoors at locations relevant to the different runes. We have primarily used old, historical instruments such as self-made frame drums and ceremonial drums, mouth harp, tagelharpe ('viking fiddle'), flutes, goat horns, tongue horns and Hardanger fiddle. Also more unconventional inputs like trees, stones, bones, water, fire etc. are employed to enhance the nature of the rune being 'portrayed'.

Keeping in mind that there will always be a certain room for disagreement and discussion when working with the runes, I would like to emphasize that in my songs it is not necessarily a goal for me to approach the respective rune from every conceivable angle, nor to unravel all the different aspects of it. My approach is both of runologic and mystic nature, but I concentrate on the core of each rune and the qualities that serve the whole concept and purpose of Wardruna best: sowing new seeds and strengthening old roots!

The release date of 'Runaljod – gap var Ginnunga' is approaching (January 19), so we have decided to add 'Hagal' to the music player at both wardruna.com and MySpace. You can also check out the cover artwork and complete track listing below. Some of the other songs from the album has already been played on various radio shows around in Europe and so far the feedback has been great! We'll try to keep you posted about future radio broadcasts.

Quite some news to unleash to the masses about the Merrimack camp.

First of all, since many of you are questioning us about the line up, let's make it official, Terrorizt is back on the vocals duties.

On the other side, Dispater is not part of Merrimack anymore, he has been replaced by a long time comrade known as Daethorn.

We wish a good continuation to Dispater with his other musical involvement, and express gratitude for his devotion in our cult.

No questions about those line-up changes will be answered, everything is said.
