Caïna - "Temporary Antennae" (2008)

Para quem não reparou...

Posso tambem confirmar uma futura edição de Caïna, projecto do UK que lançou há pouco o fantastico album Temporary Antennae na Profound Lore.

E o que o proprio tem a dizer:

Some of you might have heard some of this already, but here it is in official form. This blog details what is happening with Caïna in the next 12 months or so: later this year, hopefully before the year's ending, we will see emerging:

Krieg/Caïna split 7", Grief Foundation
Caïna/Process of Guilt split 10", Major Label Industries
(as yet) untitled 3" project, Universal Tongue

...then, there will be silence. As far as I am concerned, Caïna goes on a year's hiatus from Jan 2010. Frankly I'm nearly sick to death of making music on my own for just a little praise and less reward. Not counting you lovely people, almost everyone in the world (who knows about Caïna) is either indifferent or hostile to what I do, and I don't need that. The pressure of every project since mid-2005 (Some People Fall) has accumulated to bursting point. The pressure of working alone, the pressure of constant piracy undermining that work, and the pressure of leading what is essentially a double life. So, after the 3" is recorded, I will be launching myself into my PhD and a couple of different band projects on the side - one you know about, one you don't. They're not going to be set up for commercial gain, or to 'sell out' - they're so I can have some fun for the first time in what feels like years. As a close friend of Caïna pointed out not so long ago, Caïna is inextricably linked to me as a person - maybe that's why it drains me so much. This is a break, not a break-up.

Maybe 2% of people who hear Temporary Antennae (even IF they like it), will actually understand what the purpose of that album is, and those that this announcement annoys or dismays will not be in that 2%. That's not self-aggrandisment, because I'm not saying you won't understand it because 'my art is to complex' blah blah blah and all that bullshit. Some people who think the album is a pile of shit are probably in that 2%.Anyway, for anyone not in that small cadre - and I name no names (because of course I won't know most of them, as not everyone's on myspace or indeed the internet) , it's up to you to figure out, this message is for you: this is in no way a complete abandonment - I will (hopefully) return to Caïna in the latter half of 2010 to start prepping material for another album. This myspace will be kept updated.

Anyway, enough of this self-indulgent crap.

Curioso, as minhas faixas preferidas ou pelo menos aquelas que mais me surpreenderam, foram as primeiras. Pareceram-me mais intensas e assustadoras.
