I love reviewing self released EPs and AYKIEN has been a very nice surprise to my ears, a really talented band that need your attention. This time, it is very much speed metal inspired by Iron Maiden, Metallica and Megadeth with a slight modern approach at times. "One Must Fall" is a rather speed metal classic while "Mind Blackout" got a nice kick off, more pounding riffs and some wha wha in the guitars....a seventies twist. "Will To Live" got a more heavy metal feeling of Iron Maiden....Oh, i got it in mind "Be Quick Or Be Dead"...That is the thing, The IRON MAIDEN feel is all there.. YOU GOT IT!!!! I love this song as it is so perfect for a good headbanging session....Bang your head....back to the eighties! "Hellement" continues the Iron Maiden syndrome with some really good old accoustics...proving that all what Iron Maiden did STILL RULES amd that AYKIEN is a MUST for everyone who LOVES Iron Maiden to bits....I even think of "Run To The Hills" when i listen to "Lies Of A Joker"...(DON'T YOU tell me...bulky pies!)
